DATA INTERPRETATION (LINE GRAPH)

PREPARATORY SET-99 (LINE GRAPH)

Direction (Qs.1-5): Answer the questions based on the information given below.

The line chart below represents the length of five different pipes i.e. A, B, C, D and E sold by a shopkeeper on Monday and Wednesday. Price of 15 meters of each pipe is also given.

Question No : 1

The question consists of two statements numbered ‘I and II’ given below it. You have to decide whether the data provided in the statements are sufficient to answer the question.

Find the length of pipe C sold by shopkeeper on Tuesday

Statement I: Length of pipe C sold on Thursday is 18 m more than length of pipe C sold on Wednesday. Revenue generated on Thursday by selling pipe C is Rs.972 more than revenue generated on Tuesday by selling pipe C.

Statement II: Length of pipe B sold on Wednesday is 92 m more than length of pipe C sold on Tuesday.

(1) The data in statement I alone are sufficient to answer the question, while the data in statement II alone are not sufficient to answer the question.

(2) The data in statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question, while the data in statement I alone are not sufficient to answer the question.

(3) The data either in statement I alone or in statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question.

(4) The data given in both statements I and II together are not sufficient to answer the question.

(5) The data in both statements I and II together are necessary to answer the question.

Question No : 2

Find the sum of the average of length of each pipe sold on Monday and average of length of each pipe sold on Wednesday.

(1) 384.2 m

(2) 367.2 m

(3) 361.8 m

(4) 376.6 m

(5) 372.4 m

Question No : 3

Find the difference between the revenue generated by selling pipe A and pipe B together on Monday, and the revenue generated by selling pipe C and Pipe D together on Wednesday.

(1) Rs.2672

(2) Rs.2472

(3) Rs.2278

(4) Rs.2574

(5) Rs.2344

Question No : 4

On Tuesday, length of pipe B and pipe E sold by shopkeeper was 24 m more and 32 m less than that of the pipe B and E sold on Wednesday, respectively. Total revenue generated on Monday by selling pipe B and pipe C together is what percent of total revenue generated on Tuesday by selling pipe B and E together?

(1) 64.7%

(2) 60.3%

(3) 68.2%

(4) 54.9%

(5) 72.1%

Question No : 5

In the question, two quantities I and II are given. You have to solve both the quantities to establish the correct relation between Quantity – I and Quantity – II and choose the correct option.

Quantity I: Revenue generated on Monday by selling pipe E is how much more / less than that of the revenue generated on Wednesday by selling pipe E?

Quantity II: If the length of pipe D sold on Thursday is 33 m then find revenue generated by selling pipe D on Thursday.

(1) Quantity I > Quantity II

(2) Quantity I < Quantity II

(3) Quantity I ≤ Quantity II

(4) Quantity I = Quantity II or No relation

(5) Quantity I ≥ Quantity II
